Bret Stuart, network technician and systems administrator, was chosen as 2015 Employee of the Year at a special employee recognition celebration held on March 29 at Greene County Medical Center. The recognition celebration honored all Employee of the Year nominees, as well as all employees with 5-year milestone anniversaries.
The medical center offers all employees the opportunity to nominate co-workers for Employee of the Year. Stuart was described as “the whole package when looking at an IT professional.” It was also noted that, “Bret has shown his commitment to the hospital through his work ethic and can-do attitude.”
Stuart has been an employee since May 2011 when he was hired fulltime as a network technician in the Information Systems department. He has been instrumental in many technological initiatives since that time and is now working as network/systems administrator. He received his 2-year computer science degree from Iowa Central Community College.
Overall, there were 16 nominees for Employee of the Year: Sandy Atkinson, director, quality management/patient experience; Diane Bergeman, clerk, West Central Orthopedics/specialty clinics; Shannon Black, director, materials management; Rebeca Custer, RN, acute care; Laine Custer, RN, public health; Renee Dunne, HR generalist, human resources; Susan Frahm, cook, nutritional services; Dana Johnson, clerk, care management services; Chad Jones, aide, acute care/emergency; Jesse Kniffin, cook, nutritional services; Bonnie Orris, pharmacist; Katie Palmer, RN, acute care; Paula Parris, restorative aide, long term care; Heather Rivera, buyer, materials management; and Jenny Taylor, director, clinics.
